Once upon a time, there was a juggler, who happened to be a writer, a knitter, and a bunch of other things..... This is that juggler.

Why's the Muse Gone??

Okay, my muse is known for not being to kind. I know that its very ambitious, and that little voice in your head that tells you when things are bad ideas or impossible or dangerous is missing. I think the muse may be holding it hostage.
Anyway, I'm listening to the Beatles, and trying to entice it to come home. I mean, I thought I'd enjoy a break. I could clean the house, get some knitting done, and get my energy back. I could cook food.

Stupid muse.

I miss you.
I guess I'm not me unless I'm planning these huge things. So, hopefully, she'll wander home soon. At least, I hope she will.
I need to get writing original stuff, but for now, here we come, fan fictions.

12 in 2012?

Hello there. I hope your day is going well. I thought I'd let you in on some of the Big Picture of my life. It's that point where I start running. My feet will fly, and I will be okay. I know I will. I have to be.
So, today, let's talk Novels. Or, more Accurately, lets talk Novellas.
You see, I can't let down a challenge. In fact, its a well known fact that the words "Bet you can't" or "there's no way" are sort of like magic words to me. If someone puts a challenge out there, I've been known to take it. (I'm looking at you, 27 hats in 22 1/2 hours!)
So, here's the deal.
Starting January, I will be writing 12 things. Novellas, novels, or plays.
There's already a loose plan in place-

January: Remembrance.

I'm not sure how to classify this novella, truth be told. It's not romance enough to be a romance, not sad enough to be a tragedy, and its lack of killing takes it out of the horror genre.

February I will be working on Fool's Love, and setting it out as an April Novella for sale.
March? Who knows.

April will be the play edition of Remembrance, based solely on the counseling sessions.

May: HACK: A Writer's Guild

June: Hearts of Time (Oh Yeah! Series, here I come!)

July:

August: Demonia (This one is very twisted! Thank you, Rene for helping me come up with this!)

September: All Wrapped Up (Christmas Romance)

October

November A Heart Divided (Book three)

December

Oh, if only if only!

Well, back to work on my friends Christmas Present!

After the Storm

So... here I am, its Friday, December 16, 2011. Last night, I completed the ILS lecture class. Still holding out for grades. Still working through it all. On Monday, I have my A&P final (Anatomy/physiology). Thanks, Professor, for understanding that I could really use an extra day or two to study after putting in my work for EMT-I.

After that... we wait. So, instead of posting about my studying, and me not discussing calls (though there have been a couple ones that deserve being discussed, including a minor miracle-) I decided that it was time I start talking about the BIG PICTURE, or whatever you want to call it.
The point is that there's something out there, and I'm still chasing it with my all, and I'm not going to stop, no matter where it goes. I have two novels under my feet, waiting to gain enough momentum to fly on their own, and that may be the moment that all of this changes. It may be the day that I suddenly quit feeling stuck. It may be the day that I suddenly am able to achieve the So Much More that my characters are searching for. I type this out, aware that right now, my words are worthless, and my actions are plain. I am just KJ, or Kaley, or whatever you have come to call me. In the future, you may see them as worth something... I wonder if other Authors felt this way at first.

So, as of Dec. 16, year 2011- here's the plan.

I am currently working on edits of Phoenix and Mountain. I plan on Mountain being done by Christmas, and then it will get sent to a few friends to help edit this. I hope to have those back by February's end. Then, March, April, I will go through the publishing channels and work on the cover art- something that I have discussed with only a few friends. I'm not sure if the original cover idea will stay, or if this, just like the Mountain itself, will change.

Well, this post is getting longer, and the days are still getting shorter. I won't bother you with much more of my time... just give it all, and be glad you are okay after the storm.

Dancing For Change

Soooooo......

guess what? Today, I am working on editing. I'm also still knitting. However, I'm mainly working on my trauma. Meaning, that I'm currently working on studying for my big exam tomorrow on Trauma and how it effects the body. All of the body. I've been doing time like crazy all over the place.

Of course, there's this whole challenge I'm doing. It's 12 in 2012, and my friends and I are going to be writing a story/short story/novella every month. I'll be doing it this December as well, but I will also be doing 12 in 12. This month is still a fight between "All Wrapped up" a christmas romance, or "Remembrance" a summer story of paramedic students trying to keep living their lives after a mass casualty incident kills three of the 14 program students.

I spend more time with Remembrance, that's for sure. Plus, I can always do my christmas story some other year.

Starting it up....

Well, here we are. It's December 6, 2011. and, what am I doing?

Homework. That's right, life and times of a paramedic student. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what I've been up to for class itself, because of HIPAA, meant to protect the patient from others knowing about why they are in the Emergency Room. So.. what next? Well...

We could go with knitting. I'm finishing up some fox themed presents for a friend, and of course, A birthday/christmas present for someone I really care about :)

So, Knitting, Paramedic-ing.

I have been working on a bit more of my novel, but am having a bit of trouble finding time to do it. I'm also getting ready to work on a few novellas- most of them will be free, and available for e-readers only. Eventually, I might make a novella compilation out of them.

For now, keep it easy.

"In the Beginning, There was the Mountain...."

Okay, well, maybe not so much a mountain, than a bunch of stuff that needs to get done.

Hello, there.

Whether you're reading this twelve seconds after I hit post, or ten years from now, welcome.

My name's K.J, and you've just entered my life. I'm not sure what keyword you've used to stumble upon this blog, or what link you followed, but you are all welcome here.

So... what should we discuss first? Maybe the first thing that got started, right?

Okay. That would be the knitting. Knitting and I have been in a relationship for about seven years now, since I was a sophomore in high school. Knitting and I have gone a long way together. Knitting is a big part of my life. Why, you ask? Well, there's this thing out there called the world's longest scarf. Yup, I'm that idiot attempting to do it. Yes, I know it has its own blog and twitter account already. It also has a ravelry group and a facebook page. I've gotten my hats on famous heads (30h!3, you still have them, right?) by complete accident. It all started with a cat hat, then restarted with a dinosaur hat. Now, I'm not sure how far it will go, but I'm willing to let it take me far.

Okay, knitting sorta covered. That places juggling next. After my first year of college, I decided juggling. I'm pretty sure I considered it during the spring semester, but didn't really start until the summer. I, K. Schrecengast, picked up juggling because I didn't know what to do with a homesick camper. Yup. That's how that started. Its rare to meet me without juggling equipment these days. I can juggle rings, scarves, balls, and clubs, and yes, I am wanting to purchase knives and torches. I want to get back into poi, and I love all three of my contact juggling balls. No, they are not fushigi, and I am offended that people ask if they are. They're way to cool for that.

Next? EMS. That's right. This girl who used to want to major in English and be a professor decided that after a long day and a hard call, that she wanted to be a paramedic. I'm currently a first year student in my first semester, but who knows where I'll be in three years? I will never talk about where I am or where I've been to on calls...because that's a HIPAA violation.

Okay... Knit, Juggle, Save life... write. Yup. Write.
As this is typed out at 10 PM on Nov. 28, guess what? I'm editing two novels. They are both in the horror genre to me, but we'll see when they get sent to publishing. The Phoenix Squad is the first born, and The King of the Mountain may be its great great grandmother. I'm not to sure on the logistics yet. I really should get on that whole editing thing...but I wanted to start a blog where I am all of me, instead of just a knitter, or just a juggler.

No, instead, you get all of me, in the life and times of K. Schrecengast.
